Some tips and tricks to prepare a gooey Babka at home
If you are looking forward to preparing Babka then let us share some tips with you.
- Many recipes of Babka might tell you that it is alright to leave the dough at room temperature, but mates, we are talking from our personal experience. The babka dough should be at least allowed to chill in the refrigerator for at least eight hours for best results. This way, once the dough is cold and ready, we find it super easy to roll the smooth surface.
- The dough is rolled and then the chocolate is laid over it. Finally, you need to shape the dough and it is ready to be baked. Sometimes you may be running short of time and in that case, you can even swap liquid chocolate with Nutella. This won't make much of a difference except that your time and effort will be considerably reduced.
- The sugar syrup is not only used to give a nice shimmer and shine to the surface but also to keep the babka fresh for many more days. We cannot deny that after a day or two the babka is likely to get dried out but at least it will remain fresh and yummy still.
- Instead of just using water to knead the dough, we prefer to use milk or a combination of two to enhance the richness of the desserts.
- As we know, babka is all about the chocolatey filling. So the more the merrier. You can use both chocolate chips and chocolate chunks for this recipe. Chopped pecans and nuts need to be included in this recipe as well.
- The chocolate filling that you need for the dough should neither be too firm nor should it be too flowy. If you feel that the texture is firm, warm it up in the microwave for a while. However, you should not fill the warm stuffing directly into the dough, or else the butter in the dough can melt.
